High Interest Shown in Private Label & FMCG Fairs by Professionals of the Industry

Label Istanbul, “International Private Label Products and Supermarket Brands
Fair”, the most important meeting platform of the industry celebrating its 10th
year and the FMCG “4th Fast Moving Products Fair” were organised at CNR Expo
Istanbul between 10 – 12 March 2011. Highly popular fair was visited by 6.451
professionals of which 1.453 were foreigners.
More than 150 companies participated in Private Label İstanbul & FMCG Fair
organised by the Sine Trade Fairs Co., an affiliate of the CNR Holding. KOSGEB,
the Small and Medium Size Industry Development Organisation, provided 50% refund
support for participating companies; FAYDA Inc. established by the unification
of more than 70 market groups, was also one of the participating companies.
Purchasing committees of chains and local stores from various Anatolian cities
as well as from countries and regions such as the USA, Europe, the Middle East,
the Gulf, North Africa, the Central Asia and the Balkans visited the fair. 1.453
foreign visitors from 52 countries such as Germany, the USA., Albania, Belgium,
the UAE, Bulgaria, Algeria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Morocco, France,
Palestine, India, Italy, the UK, Iran, Israel, Qatar, Kazakhistan, Kuwait,
Lebanon, Macedonia, Malaysia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia,
Ukraine, Jordan and Greece established business contacts with participants at
Private Label İstanbul and FMCG Fair.
The participating countries in Private Label İstanbul and FMCG Fair were the
USA, Germany, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, the P.R.C., Indonesia, Austria,
Scotland, Korea, Lichtenstein, Lithuania,Taiwan and Spain. Companies such as Abc
Battery, Abora Corparation, Ascom, Double Hero's, Dorco Co, Hopi Popi, Jiangsu
Longliqi Group, Jurado Hermanos, Naujasis Nevezis, Perident Ltd., Smart Drinks
and Tomy Show Cosmetics were some of the prominent foreign participants.
Hügli Foods of the Czech Republic, the second biggest food supplier and private
label producer of Europe, decided to enter the Turkish market. Simon Hamersky,
the Central and Western Europe Director of the company said that they were
impressed by the Turkish market very much and really wanted to play an active
role in this market. He said that they will be getting in touch with BIM,
Carrefour and Migros and added : “We will definitely conclude a collaboration
this year.”
The visitor profile of the event consisted of purchasing committee
respresentatives of local and international markets and chain stores, retailers,
wholesalers, local and international labels, catering companies, hotels,
restaurants, tourism companies and public sector institutions.
